Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an additional benefit or bonus when the equipment is utilized. They can be bought from vendors or other players, looted or obtained as rewards, or made using crafting materials. Upgrade items can be cosmetic effects as well as offering bonus points for attributes.
Upgrade components can include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They are not generally accessible to the general public and are only available on equipment that is ascended, or certain non-ascended weaponry from the Factions Campaign. You can recover infusions and inscriptions from equipment using an Infusion Extractor Device, or by salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade products can be traded and re-used when still attached to the item that is being upgraded. These upgrade items are the best option to boost quality of armor and weapon without spending Dilithium in the sense that they increase the odds of receiving an upgrade by two times.
An upgrade component placed within an item can be replaced with another, but doing so destroys the previous one (except for upgrades to legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Upgrade components can only be added to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or more. When you upgrade an item that is already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade will display the name of the new item as it would appear in game (for example, adding the Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can only have three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a useful addition to any product, since they provide numerous unique advantages and boosts. Certain glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, thereby increasing its effectiveness. These glyphs are acquired by the completion of the dungeons. Some can even be found in specific World Tier 3 zones. It is important to keep in mind that glyphs can only be used by characters who have created a root-dungeon with the same level of depth.
To use a Glyph, you must first create it using components and connect them with anchors. The component will then automatically align with other components or paths within the same layer. If you don't want create the glyph using components, you can build it by combining paths and anchors. Drag an element in the direction of a component highlighted to lock it into place.
Certain glyphs require specific conditions to be fulfilled like 25 Dexterity within a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to activate, which can be difficult to attain. Some glyphs have a radius that increases as you move up.
Glyphs are able to be applied to various items and weapons, except for those belonging to a particular class. Certain glyphs come with additional requirements, for example an amount of Dexterity damage, or Attack damage for a specific portion of the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph adds an 5% chance to block enemy attacks. It also has 15% chance to make the Hero vulnerable for 2 turns.
Certain glyphs can also be applied to restricted use tools, such as the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs count towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most common glyphs in the game are the attack ones which boost Artifacts' ATK substats by a fixed amount. These glyphs are especially useful for classes that rely on weapons with a range, such as Warriors or Rogues. The Exploit Glyph renders enemies who attack the Hero vulnerable to damaging effects.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to reroll a result rolled during an Action. They are discarded when the reroll occurs. Reroll tokens can be obtained through a variety of ways, including through raids, dungeons, and skirmishes. They can also be purchased at the shop or from other players. They are particularly useful in dungeons and trials, since they allow players to reroll rewards at the end of the chest.
For items at the level 1 there are recycling points. The upgrade gauge will increase by a specific amount of points each time you recycle an item. This number is determined by the rarity of the item as well as its level. In item upgrading upgraded item won't keep its level when it is rerolled and the cost of recycling an upgraded item increases depending on its level.
Another option is to use reroll tokens in order to roll an upgrade item again however, this won't bring the item back to its original condition or provide its original extra stats. This is useful for those who wish to reroll a product they don't love, but would like to keep it in their collection.
There are three different types of upgrade tokens that are available in the game: reroll, random and upgrade. Each type has several subtypes. For example, reroll tokens come in three different levels: rare, enhanced and legendary. Each requires an item from the level of its respective to make the new item with that quality.
To use reroll tokens, right-click the Satanic or Angelic item in inventory and select "Reroll Token". Then, select a kind of token. The available tokens include Item, Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns, and Focus. Using an Item token will create a new Item of any quality. Making use of the Weapon or Misc token will result in a new weapon of the same faction.
The item may also be upgraded to a new item that has the same stats but a higher level. This could happen if the item has been placed in the Non-Droppable Pool or was transferred to it as part of the franchise card.
