Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.
Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are equipment-type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from boosting the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you don't have enough of or.
The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, however it can be reduced by many different methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be upgraded with an suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective instrument for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it actually improves the stat by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components slotted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed within which it is placed, but you can recover the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered a loss.
When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription on your equipment to provide a bonus. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take many hits from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and can be found in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes or as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons that can be upgraded for better damage or perks.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will alter the appearance of the window for the item, and allow up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item as well as its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is an excellent method to improve an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is decreased by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This is evident on rings and Diadems, as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to modify their build without a lot of time and effort. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They plan to add the ability for players to change their race in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount which boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for a stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades can be random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances when a more or unique roll could occur. item upgrades will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, then it is likely to getting a higher level.
Upgrades can be costly Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it has. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item may attain the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional effect. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel can also change according to the upgrade path and base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
